High winds again tonight. -12 C and the wind chill is -24. B and I walked up and down our street twice. That gave us about 20 - 25 minutes of exercise. It is bitter out, but if we had put on snow pants, we would have been able to go further. As usual, the dog didn't seem to mind the weather at all.
I also walked about another 10 minutes last night with B.

I walked with the dog for 25 minutes, bundled in three tops under my coat, 2 pairs of mitts and heavy socks in my work shoes. Even though I was warm, the wind at the school was too ferocious.

January 1st, 2016 - First Day Of The New Year
Just went for my first walk of the new year. -11 C and a very slight wind. Refreshing!
The sun continues to shine brightly; the snow is crisp and clean.
Walking to and around the schools, home again to the very end of my road is 40 minutes and about 2400 - 2500 steps. Compared to what is recommended, 10,000 steps, this seems like very little for accomplishment. However, I feel enlivened by getting out, and moving!
My foot continues to bother me, though not as badly as the last few days. Instead of boots, I wore my work shoes which have good tread. No mishaps.
I passed only one person and few vehicles. It's late in the morning, but I think most people are only starting to get up after last night.
This picture does not do justice to the beauty outside, however it is a memory of today.

December 27th, 2015:
I'm going to start walking again. Though I haven't given up entirely, I am in no way walking as much as I was 3 to 4 years ago. The goal now is to walk 40 minutes every day, regardless of weather and being busy.
On Christmas Eve, because of the beautiful full moon, I went by myself for a 30 minute walk with the dog. Local street lights did lessen the effect, but still, I walked in the moonlight on Christmas Eve!
Christmas Day - Taking the dog again, I went for a 40 minute walk in the sunshine of a glorious afternoon. The snow shimmered as with glitter and behind the rifts and drifts, blue shadows fell and stretched on white. In contrast to usual winter weather, the wind was minimal, if any. What an exhilarating trek through fields and quiet streets!
Today, the family walked part way with me. They were not dressed to take the cold, so they turned back while Peach and I continued to our destination. The school yard was partially packed with drifted snow, but easily waded through. The wind, though stronger did not impede our progress. Peach washed herself in a sprays of fluffy flakes and randomly explored the nooks and crannies discovered by her nose. In all, we were gone about 30 minutes.

Spring Time
Starting to walk again.
Spring is breathtaking, the air so fresh! Today, bright with sunlight was a reverie for my eyes.and a refreshment for my spirit.
While walking the dogs with my brother tonight, I saw a shooting star - amazing! It's been years since I've seen one.
I took two shorter walks today at work, and again, basked in the sunshine.

A Work Trip:
Yesterday and today, I was in P. Rupert for work..
The city is looking very old and a bit rundown. Also, it is very noisy!
Nevertheless, it's interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
My co-worker and I went for a 70 minute walk through town, down to the wharf and then back to our hotel. A perfect evening for being out and about.
After our return, I had the pleasure of watching the bright orange sunset from my eighth floor room. I couldn't resist showing the intensity of the colour of the sunset as its light shone on the wall.
